Sativa strains are likely to produce more energetic and/or upbeat effects, making them perfect for starting your day or when you need a boost of energy or motivation.

Hybrid strains can be indica-dominant, sativa dominant, or totally balanced, so their effects can vary depending on the exact strain. But in general, hybrids are a great option to consume throughout the day.

Indica strains are known for their more relaxing, sometimes sedating effects. These strains are ideal for unwinding after a long day or getting ready for a good night’s sleep.

Where Do Strains Get Their Names?

How in the world does someone come up with a name like granddaddy purple or Sour Diesel. Well, there’s no single rhyme or reason so don’t feel your cannabis knowledge is lacking. Strains are named for and after all sorts of things – the original grower, the smell or color, the effects it produces, etc. Other times it’s a clever combination of the parent strains used to create the new strain. And some are named after celebrities because, why not? And every once in a while, you’ll come across a really crazy one (Alaskan Thunderf*ck, anyone?).
